My work is inspired by the natural world and the contrasts and meetings between the natural and cultural world. I make investigations in nature, which are used as a starting point, then worked and processed into abstracted objects or functional designs in glass. I am inspired by lines, patterns, systems, irregularities, movement and rhythm, such as natural geometry and sequences of landscapes.
As a craftsman I often develop ideas through material research. By using glass as the main material, I am interested in exploring the materials qualities in my work. In some works I use optical illusions, giving a feeling of distortion and movement to an object. Transparency is another quality of glass, which I find can apply an immaterial sense to an object.
