Forgreninger                               

(Branching)                    

The series Forgreninger, takes inspiration from fractals, natures principle for building pattern and form. Fractals can be found everywhere in nature and even within ourselves.

Here focusing on the principle for branching, as found in the structure of leaves, in the growth of trees, in the path of a stream through a landscape - and within bodies: in our blood vessels.

When looking closer, the structures are arranged in a fractal network: branches with corresponding sub-branches.

By letting branched structure and growth influence a geometric form /shape.

that, like a blank canvas, is fed with branched growth, which, more or less, affects shape and surface

I have experimented with mixing different colours in these pieces, applying another layer to experimencing the shapes, exploring how the placing of the colours affect the experience of the finished piece - and the interaction between the pieces.
