BLADCOLLAGER - LEAF COLLAGE SERIES

Is a series of kilncast wallpieces inspired by leaves, exploring surfaces, structure and lines and colour. The pieces are made by imprints of leaves and made in kilncasting and Lost wax technique. The first collection of leaves were gathered various places in Denmark during summer season 2019, naming each piece after the type of leaf used for building up the collage and the place where the original leaf was collected.

During summer 2023 I collected new leaves: Fig leaves and mulberry leaves from Bornholm - and poplar leaves from Ærø and Copenhagen.

The chestnut tree in Ølsted

During most of 2019 I lived in Ølsted, a small village north of Copenhagen. I collected leaves for the Leaf collage sereis from a chestnut tree growing in front of an old inn, in the centre of the village.

Bornholm, Sejlerøn/ Sorbus Intermedia

I lived and worked for more than 25 years on the island of Bornholm in the Baltic sea. I collected leaves for the Leaf collages from trees sicnificant to the island: fig tree, the mulberry tree and a local wild rowan tree: Sejlerøn (da.) Sorbus Intermedia (latin)
